ふみの日 1984年（昭和59年） 7月 23日発行 郵政省は1984年７月、「ふみの日」キャンペーン切手を初発行した。ふみの日とは、郵政省が 1979年に制定した7月23日の記念日である。この切手の発行趣旨は、「手紙の楽しさ、手紙を受け取るうれしさを通じて文字文化を継承する」ことで、郵便物の利用促進を目的としている。郵政省は、1975年度から毎月23日を“ふみの日”として、各地方別に手紙を書く運動を展開していたが、1979年から国民的運動にするため、全国的な規模でキャンペーンを展開するようになった。この後、「ふみの日」キャンペーン切手は毎年発行されている。切手は「小鳥と手紙」、「花と手紙」がデザインされている。
