World Congress of Private UNESCO Issued on July 16, 1984 (Showa 59) Japan is the first country in the world to start the private UNESCO movement. In July 1947, the "UNESCO Cooperation Association" was established in Sendai, and soon cooperation associations were born all over the country.The private UNESCO movement, which has spread from Japan to the world, is currently being carried out by more than 3,500 UNESCO associations and UNESCO clubs in 70 countries around the world. The stamp was issued in commemoration of the UNESCO World Congress of the Movement held in Japan in July 1984, and is designed with the UNESCO symbol mark and the earth.
