国際地理学会議・国際地図学会議 1980年（昭和55年） 8月 25日発行
世界最大の地理学組織である国際地理学連合（International Geographical Union, IGU）は、４年に一度、「国際地理学会議（International Geographical Congress, IGC）」を開催し、その中間年に地域会議 (Regional Conference, RC)を開催している。国際地図学会議は、国際地図学協会が２年ごとに開催する国際会議であり、1962年の第１回から当会議 で29回目を迎える。
切手は、両会議の東京開催を記念して発行され、「地図と棒グラフ」がデザインされている。
