消防100年 1980年（昭和55年） 5月 31日発行 明治維新により、江戸時代の「町火消（まちひけし）」は東京府に移管され、1872年に「消防組」に組織改正された。1881年（明治14年）に警察、消防組織は東京警視庁に移管となり、今の消防形態の基礎になった。切手は、消防100年を記念して発行され、三代広重画「東京名所八代洲町火消でぞめはしごのりの図」がデザインされた。
Centenary of Fire Fighting Issued on March 31, 1980 (Showa 55)
Due to the Meiji Restoration, the "town fire extinguisher" of the Edo period was transferred to Tokyo Prefecture, and in 1872 the organization was reorganized into the "firefighting team". In 1881 (Meiji 14), the police and firefighting organizations were transferred to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, which became the basis of the current firefighting form.
The stamp was issued in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the firefighting, and was designed by Hiroshige III, "The figure of the fire extinguisher in Yashirosu-cho, Tokyo."
