50th Inter-City Baseball Match Issued on July 27, 1979 (Showa 54)

50th Inter-City Baseball Match Issued on July 27, 1979 (Showa 54) The first tournament of the Intercity Baseball Tournament was held in 1927. Before the first tournament, there was no professional baseball in Japan, and student baseball such as Tokyo Rokudaigaku was at the top.The origin of the Intercity Baseball Tournament is that the Mainichi Newspaper reporter Mr. Hashido held a national baseball tournament in 1927, inspired by the major league franchise system. Since the 84th convention in 2013, it has been sponsored by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. The stamps are designed with balls and players.
