近代美術シリーズ 4 1980年（昭和55年）7月7日 / 10月27日 発行 1979年５月から1983年３月まで、郵政省は「近代美術シリーズ」切手を１６回（各２種）発行した。近代美術（モダンアート）は、 実験精神を重視し、過去の伝統的な美術様式から脱しようとした思想や様式などの芸術作品である。 美術史において近代美術とは、写実的な初期印象派から脱しようとした後期印象派や新印象派、またリアリズムから脱しようとした象徴主義が源流とされている。一般的に認知されているのは、1860年代から1970年代までに制作された作品と認識されている。 引用：現代美術史大学課題のサポート - www.happycampus.co.jp
Modern Japanese Art Series 4 Issued on 7. 7, / 10. 27, (Showa55) From May 1979 to March 1983, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued 16 "Modern Art Series" stamps (2 types each). Modern art is a work of art such as thoughts and styles that emphasizes the spirit of experimentation and attempts to break away from the traditional art styles of the past. In art history, modern art is said to have its origins in Post-Impressionism and Neo-Impressionism, which tried to escape from the realistic early Impressionism, and symbolism, which tried to escape from realism. Generally recognized are works produced between the 1860s and 1970s.
