Opening of Trans Okinawa-Luzon Issued on August 26, 1977 (Showa 52) Since its establishment in 1953 (Showa 28), KDDI has promoted the expansion and strengthening of international telecommunications facilities in response to the increasing and diversifying demand for international telecommunications. Among them, the international submarine cables are (1) the first trans-Pacific cable, (2) the second trans-Pacific cable, (3) the Sea of Japan cable, (4) the Japan-China cable, and the Okinawa-Luson-Hong Kong cable that opened in August 1977.In August 1977, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a stamp to commemorate the opening of the submarine cable, and the "submarine cable route map and children" was designed.
