天皇陛下御在位五十年 1976年（昭和51年） 11月 10日発行 1976年11月、昭和天皇在位50年記念式典が開催され、国内外から7500人が参列した。昭和天皇は1901年（明治34年）に誕生し、1926年（昭和元年）から1988年（昭和63年）迄天皇として在位した。60年余りの在位中にアジア太平洋戦争を挟み、大日本帝国憲法の統治権者としての天皇と、日本国憲法の「象徴天皇」の両方を経験した唯一の天皇である。切手はそれを記念して発行され、「万歳楽」（日本の伝統雅楽）と、「天皇の儀装馬車」がデザインされた。
50th Anniv. of Emperor's Reign Issued on November 10, 1976 (Showa 51) In November 1976, a ceremony was held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Showa, and 7,500 people from Japan and abroad attended. Emperor Showa was born in 1901 (Meiji 34) and reigned as the emperor from 1926 (Showa 1) to 1988 (Showa 63). During his 60-year reign, he was the only emperor who experienced both the emperor as the ruler of the Constitution of Japan and the "symbol emperor" of the Constitution of Japan during the Asia Pacific War. Stamps were issued in commemoration of this, and "ManzaiRaku" (Japanese traditional Music) and "Emperor's carriage" were designed.
