1976年10月、国際文通週間（International Letter Writing Week）切手が発行された。これは、文通による相互理解で世界平和に貢献する国際週間である。万国郵便連合（UPU）結成日である10月9日から1週間、毎年設定されている。
切手は、江戸時代中期の日本の俳人、文人画（南画）家与謝野蕪村（よさのぶそん）の「鳶烏図（とびがらすず）」がデザインされている。
International Letter Writing Week Issued on October 6, 1976 (Showa 51)
In October 1976, the International Letter Writing Week stamp was issued. This is an international week that contributes to world peace through mutual understanding through correspondence. It is set every year for a week from October 9,the date of formation of the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
The stamp is designed by Yosa Buson, "Tobigarasu-zu"a Japanese poet and bunjin painter in the middle of the Edo period.
