昭和天皇・皇后両陛下御訪米 1975年（昭和50年）10月 14日発行 1975年初秋、天皇・皇后両陛下がアメリカを初めて訪問され、ワシントン､ニューヨークなど米国各地を廻られた。ワシントンでは、フォード大統領主催の歓迎晩餐会が行われた。天皇陛下がスピーチで、「アメリカ訪問の目的は、不幸な戦争の直後、貴国が日本の再建のために温かい好意と援助の手を差し伸べられたことに対し、貴国民に直接感謝の言葉を伝えることである」と述べられると、会場からは大きな拍手が起こり晩餐会は予定時間をオーバーして深夜にまで及んだ。切手と小型シートは、昭和天皇の訪米を記念して発行され、両国国旗と桜、ハナミズキがデザインされた。
