第９回国際食用きのこ会議 1974年（昭和49年） 11月 2日発行 1974年11月、第9回国際食用キノコ会議が東京で開催された。「きのこ界のオリンピック」と呼ばれる同会議は、国際きのこ学会が発起して創設され、食用きのこ科学技術界・産業界における世界最大規模の祭典だ。国際連合食糧農業機関（FAO）、世界銀行など国際組織の代表者、各国の政府関係者、科学者、企業家たちが参加する。この会議は、食用きのこをめぐる科学技術交流を強化するほか、関連の科学技術と産業の発展を推進する。切手はこの会議を記念して発行され、日本で開発した栽培シイタケがデザインされている。
9th Inter-Scientific Congress on Mushrooms

In November 1974, the 9th International Edible Mushroom Conference was held in Tokyo. The conference, called the "Olympic Games in the Mushroom World," was founded by the International Mushroom Society and is the world's largest festival in the edible mushroom science and technology world and industry.
Representatives of international organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Bank, government officials, scientists and entrepreneurs from each country will participate.This conference will strengthen science and technology exchanges over edible mushrooms and promote the development of related science and technology and industry.
The stamp was issued in commemoration of this conference, and the cultivated shiitake mushroom developed in Japan is designed.
