Imperial Golden Weedding Issued on January 26, 1974 (Showa 49) Emperor Showa was born in 1901 (Meiji 34) and was named Hirohito. He became the 124th Emperor in December 1925. After the war, the Constitution of Japan stipulated that the emperor was a symbol of Japan and the Japanese people.The emperor then visited European countries in 1971 for international goodwill. And celebrated his 50th anniversary in 1974.
The stamp was issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of His Majesty the Emperor's reign, and the "Nijubashi" (bridge) and palace of his Imperial Palace are designed.
