婦人参政25年 1971年（昭和46年） 4月 10日発行 日本では1945年10月幣原内閣で婦人参政権に関する閣議決定がなされた。翌10月11日、幣原内閣に対して連合国軍総司令官ダグラス・マッカーサーが行った五大改革の指令には「参政権賦与による日本婦人の解放」が盛られていた。切手は、1971年に婦人参政権（現在は女性参政権）公布25年を記念して発行され、投票する女性と国会議事堂がデザインされている。
25th Anniv. Women's Suffrage Issued on April 10, 1971 (Showa 46) In Japan, a cabinet decision on women's suffrage was made by the Shidehara Cabinet in October 1945. The following day, October 11, the Allied Forces General Commander Douglas MacArthur issued a directive to the Shidehara Cabinet for the five major reforms, which included "liberation of Japanese women by granting suffrage." The stamp was issued in 1971 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the promulgation of women's suffrage (now women's suffrage), and is designed for women to vote and the Parliament.
