The WorldSkills Competition originated in a competition by the Professional Youth Group held in Spain in 1950. The tournament is run by WorldSkills International (WSI), and its members are technical representatives from member countries. Japan is a member of Japan Vocational Ability Development Association, which is active as WorldSkills Japan and dispatches Japanese athletes to international competitions.The stamp was issued in commemoration of the 19th International Convention held in 1970, and is designed with the convention mark and athletes.
