U.N. 25th Anniversary Issued on 10 24, 1970 (Showa 45) In October 1970, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued stamps to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the United Nations, which was founded in 1945. Japan joined the United Nations in 1956. Since then, Japan has played various important roles in international cooperation and contributions at the United Nations, but it has not yet become a permanent member of the Security Council. The stamp is designed with United Nations Headquarters Building and United Nations Mark.
