日本万国博覧会 開催時１ 1970年（昭和45年） 6月 15日発行 日本万国博覧会（Japan World Exposition Osaka1970）は、1970年3月15日から9月13日までの183日間、大阪府吹田市で開催された国際博覧会である。アジアで初、日本で最初の国際博覧会であり、当時史上最大の規模を誇った。英語表記はEXPO'70が使われた。切手は、開催時の記念（第1回目）として寄付金付で小型シートとともに発行され、花火とパビリオン（15円）、地球と桜（15円）と、尾形光琳の「燕子花図屏風（カキツバタ図びょうぶ・50円）がデザインされた。
Expo'70 1st Issue Issued on June 15, 1970 (Showa 45) The Japan World Exposition Osaka 1970 is an international exposition held in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture, for 183 days from March 15th to September 13th, 1970. It was the first international exposition in Asia and the first in Japan, and was the largest in history at that time. EXPO'70 was used for the English notation.The stamp is issued with a small sheet with a donation to commemorate the event, and is designed by fireworks and pavilion (15 yen), earth and cherry blossoms (15 yen), and KAKITUBATA-ZU-BYOBU (50 yen) by Korin Ogata.
