Launch of Nuclear Ship Issued on June 12, 1969 (Showa 44)

Launch of Nuclear Ship Issued on June 12, 1969 (Showa 44) The nuclear ship "Mutsu" was originally planned as an oceanographic observation ship by the Japan Nuclear Ship Research and Development Corporation, but was eventually built as a "special cargo ship". She laid the hull in 1968 and launched it in 1969. In August 1974, she repaired a radiation leak on the high seas of Shiriyazaki in the open sea.The cause of the radiation leak was the streaming of radiation leaking between the reactor pressure vessel and the primary shield, and additional work was done on the shield. She then sailed 110 days on the 1st to 4th experimental voyages in 1991 and was dismissed in 1992. The stamp was issued in commemoration of the flooding of the nuclear ship in 1969, and the nuclear ship "Mutsu" and the atomic structure diagram are designed.
