During the post-war reconstruction, the leaders of the Japan Port Association at that time aimed to organize an international port society based on the importance of international port cooperation and solidarity. In 1952, he invited major port officials to Kobe, held the first international port conference, and resolved to establish a permanent international organization. In 1955, the 2nd International Port Conference was held in Los Angeles, and the International Port Association was officially founded.In May 1967, the 5th IAPH Tokyo General Assembly was held in the presence of His Imperial Highness Prince Nobuhito Takamatsu, and in the same year, it was officially recognized as a non-governmental advisory body (Special Consulative Status) by the IMO.The stamp was issued in commemoration of the 5th IAPH Tokyo General Assembly, and the port of Kobe was designed.
