世界一周航空路線開設 1967年（昭和42年）3月6日発行
世界一周路線（Round the World route）は、単一航空会社により、出発地となる空港から出発して世界を一周し、再び出発地に戻る定期路線のことである。1967年3月、日本航空は、アジアの航空会社として唯一の世界一周便の運航を開始した。この世界一周便は1972年まで運航され、その後中止された。
切手は日本の世界一周航空路線開業を記念して発行され、世界航空路線とダグラスDC-8がデザインされている。
Round World Air Route Issued on March 6, 1967 (Showa 42) The Round the World route is a regular route that departs from the airport of departure, goes around the world, and returns to the place of departure by a single airline. In March 1967, Japan Airlines began operating the only round-the-world flight as an Asian airline. This round-the-world flight operated until 1972, after which it was repeatedly canceled.The stamp was issued to commemorate the opening of Japan's Round the World Airline, and is designed for the World Airline and Douglas DC-8.
