国際米穀年・農業祭 1966年（昭和41年）11月21日発行 国際コメ年（英語:International Year of Rice）は国際連合が定めた国際年。世界の半数の人々がコメを主食としており、貧困と飢餓の緩和に高く貢献することを目的とする。内容として、国際連合食糧農業機関に対し、各国政府、国際連合開発計画、国際農業研究センターに関する諮問グループおよび国際連合システムのその他関連組織や非政府組織との協働により、国際コメ年の実施を促進するよう促すことが含まれている。切手は1966年の国際米穀年・農業祭を記念して発行され、‘国際米穀年マーク’がデザインされている。

The International Year of Rice (English: International Year of Rice) is an international year set by the United Nations. Half of the world's people eat rice as their staple food, and it aims to contribute significantly to the alleviation of poverty and hunger.
The content is to implement the International Year of Rice for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in collaboration with governments, the United Nations Development Program, an advisory group on the United Nations Development Program, and other related and non-governmental organizations of the United Nations system. It includes encouraging promotion.The stamp was issued in commemoration of the 1966 International Rice Year and Agricultural Festival, and is designed with the 'International Rice Year Mark'.
