簡易保険創業50周年 1966年（昭和41年）10月1日発行 簡易保険とは、2007年10月の郵政民営化以前に、政府と日本郵政公社が行っていた生命保険事業である。正式名称は、「簡易生命保険」であり、通称「簡保」と呼ばれる。簡易保険は「簡易生命保険法」で規定され、様々な公的サービスを有した。政府は郵政民営化以前の保証を継続するため、「独立行政法人郵便貯金・簡易生命保険管理機構」に事業を継承させた。切手は、1966年10月、簡易保険創業50年を記念して発行され、家族と簡易保険マークがデザインされている。

The official name is "Simple Life Insurance", commonly known as "Japan Post Insurance". Simple insurance was stipulated in the "Simple Life Insurance Law" and had various public services.
