ユネスコ創立20周年 1966年（昭和41年）7月2日発行 ユネスコは、国際連合教育科学文化機関（United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization）である。1946年11月に設立された。ユネスコ憲章前文は「戦争は人の心の中で生まれるものであるから、人の心の中に平和のとりでを築かなければならない」と記載されている。現在193ヵ国が加盟し、世界の教育、科学、文化の協力と交流をおよび国際平和と福祉の促進を目的としており、一例として、世界文化遺産等の選定や保護活動に取り組んでいる。日本は、1951年に加盟した。 切手は、ユネスコ創立20周年を記念して発行され、国連マークととユネスコマークがデザインされている。
20th Anniv. of the Founding of UNESCO

UNESCO is the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization. It was founded in November 1946. The preamble to the Charter of the United Nations states that "war is born in the heart of man, so we must build a fortress of peace in the heart of man." Currently, 193 countries are members, aiming at cooperation and exchange of education, science and culture around the world and promotion of international peace and welfare. As an example, they are working on the selection and protection activities of world cultural heritage. Japan joined in 1951. Stamp is issued to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of UNESCO and are designed with the UN mark and the UNESCO mark.
