電話創業75年 1965年(昭和40年)12月16日発行 1890年(明治23)12月、東京都千代田区に電話局が開設され、、東京と横浜の間で電話事業が開始された。当初、加入電話は東京155台・横浜44台、電話交換手は女7人・男2人が対応した。当時の電話料金は定額で、現在換算で月額40万円であり、かなり高額だった。これらの電信・電話は逓信省が運営管理した。切手は、電話創業75周年を記念して発行され、電話のダイヤルと当時の交換機がデザインされている。

In December 1890 (Meiji 23), a telephone office was opened in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and a telephone business was started between Tokyo and Yokohama. Initially, 155 subscribers in Tokyo and 44 in Yokohama were available, and 7 females and 2 males were available as telephone operators.The telephone charges at that time were quite high the present value of 400,000 yen per month. These telegraphs and telephones were operated and managed by the Ministry of Communications.
The stamp was issued to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the telephone, and the dial of the telephone and the exchange equipment at that time were designed.
