第10回国勢調査 1965年（昭和40年）9月25日発行
1965年9月、第10回国勢調査が実施された。国勢調査は、国内人口や世帯の実態を明らかにするため、全日本人を対象として５ 年ごとに行われる統計調査である。最初の国勢調査は、1920年に実施され、1965年はそれから10回目の調査である。
切手はそれを記念して発行され、日本国旗の日の丸と日本の人口を表す「こけし人形」がデザインされている。
10th National Census Issued on September 25, 1965 (Showa 40) In September 1965, the 10th census was conducted. The census is a statistical survey conducted every five years for all Japanese in order to clarify the actual conditions of the domestic population and households. The first census was conducted in 1920, and 1965 is the tenth census since then.The stamp was issued in commemoration of that, and the Hinomaru of the Japanese flag and the "Kokeshi doll" representing the Japanese population are designed.
