国際原子力機関総会 1965年（昭和40年）9月21日発行 1965年9月、国際原子力機関（IAEA）の総会が日本で開催された。同機関は、世界の原子力分野の協力を進める中心的機関である。国際連合の支援で、1957年に設立された。核兵器の拡散を防ぎ、すべての国、とくに、開発途上国が原子力科学と技術を平和目的に、安全に、安心して利用できるようにするIAEAは、その専門知識を168加盟国へ提供し、加盟国の健康改善、食糧増産、安全水の入手および環境を保護できるように支援している。切手はこの総会の日本での開催を記念して発行され、東海村原子力発電所がデザインされている。
