東京オリンピック 1964年（昭和39年） 9月9日～10月10日発行 1964年10月、第18回オリンピックが東京で開催された。大会後には同一都市では初となるパラリンピックも開催された。東京オリンピックはアジア諸国で初めてのオリンピックで、世界93か国5120人が参加した。この時代、日本は戦後の混乱期から経済成長期に突入していた。東京オリンピック開催のため、東名、阪神、首都高速道路が三大都市圏を結んで開通したほか、東海道新幹線の開通、幹線道路の整備・拡張、その他膨大な施設建設や整備など、東京オリンピックが日本経済や人々の国際意識を成長させた効果は計り知れない。切手は、1961年からの寄付金付き切手20種とは別に、5種と小型シートが発行された。
