Opening of Aichi Irrigation Issued on July 7, 1961 (Showa 36) In July 1961, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a stamp to commemorate the water flow of Aichi. "Aichi Irrigation Water" is an irrigation canal that supplies water for agriculture, industry, and tap water from Owari in Aichi Prefecture to the Chita Peninsula in the same prefecture. It consists of a 112km "main canal" to "Minamichita Town, Aichi Prefecture" and a "branch canal" that branches off from the main canal. This irrigation canal has greatly enriched the economy and people's lives, especially in the Nagoya area. The stamps are designed with water faucets, insulators, wheat and gears.
