アジア文化会議 1959年（昭和34年） 3月 27日発行 1958年３月、アジア各国から20か国70名の参加者を招き、東京で“釈聖2500年アジア文化会議”が開催された。本来、日本国憲法は特定宗教行事に国が参加することを禁じているが、当時の岸伸介首相のアジア友好政策の政治的配慮から、この会議は開催された。切手は、アジア地図がデザインされている。
Asian Cultural Congress Issued on March 27, 1959 (Showa 34) In March 1958, the "Asia Cultural Conference for the 2500th Anniversary of the Birth of Buddha" was held in Tokyo, inviting 70 participants from 20 countries from Asian countries. Originally, the Japanese Constitution allows the country to participate in specific religious events. Although it is forbidden, this conference was held due to the political consideration of the then Prime Minister Shinsuke Kishi's Asian friendship policy. The stamp is designed with an Asian map.
