第３回アジア競技大会 1958年（昭和33年） 5月 24日発行 1958年5月、第3回アジア競技大会が開催された。この大会は、1964年の東京オリンピックの招致を目的としていた。この大会の前にIOC総会が行われ、翌年のIOC総会で東京オリンピック開催が決定された。この頃、日本は戦後の社会インフラ復旧・改善が急速に進んで、「もはや戦後ではない」という言葉も生まれた。切手は、4種発行され、国立競技場、聖火と大会マーク、ランナー、飛込競技がデザインされている。
3rd Asian Games Issued on May 24, 1958 (Showa 33)
In May 1958, the 3rd Asian Games was held. This tournament was aimed at hosting the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The IOC Session was held before this tournament, and it was decided that the Tokyo Olympic Games would be held at the IOC Session the following year. Around this time, Japan's postwar social infrastructure was rapidly restored and improved, and the phrase "no longer after the war" was coined.
Four kinds of stamps are issued, and the national stadium, the torch and tournament mark, the runner, and the diving competition are designed.
