小河内ダム竣工 1957年（昭和32年） 11月 26日発行 小河内（おごうち）ダムは、多摩川上流奥多摩町にある上水道用貯水池計画に伴って造られた「非溢流型直線重力式コンクリートダム」である。高さ149m，堤頂長353m，標高は530mで、貯水量は約1億 9000万m3。下流4ヵ所に7万 kWの発電所がある。1938年着工，1943年戦争激化で一時中止されたが，1948年工事が再開され,1957年に完成した。 切手は完成した「小河内ダム」がデザインされている。

The Ogouchi Dam is located in Okutama Town, upstream of the Tama River. This dam is a "non-overflow type linear gravity concrete dam" built in accordance with the water supply reservoir project in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The height is 149m, the length of the embankment is 353m, the altitude is 530m, and the water storage capacity is about 190 million m3. There are 70,000 kW power plants in four downstream locations. Construction started in 1938 and was temporarily suspended due to the intensification of the war in 1943, but construction was resumed in 1948 and completed in 1957.
The stamp is designed with the completed "Okouchi Dam".
