Following the previous year's "Bedro Blowing Girl", "Ichikawa Ezo" drawn by Sharaku Toshusai from Ukiyo-e was taken up.This stamp is commonly known as "Sharaku" in the stamp collecting world, and has gained immense popularity since its release.Sharaku Toshusai (birth and death unknown) is an ukiyo-e artist in the middle of the Edo period.He is known as mysterious painter who suddenly disappeared from his painting business after printing actor paintings for a short period of about 10 months.The profile was a mystery, nowadays, the theory that it is the Noh actor Jurobe Saito (1763-1820) of the Awa Tokushima Domain (Tokushima Prefecture) is predominant.
