第８回国民体育大会 1953年（昭和28年）10月22日発行
1953年（昭和28年）10月、郵政省は、第８回国民体育大会記念切手２種を発行した。
前大会（第7回）同様、四国四県の複数県開催となった。前大会から出場した沖縄は体育協会に正式に加盟したため、陸上競技と柔道競技に参加した。
8th National Athletic Meet Issued on October 22, 1953 (Showa 28) In October 1953 (Showa 28), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued two types of stamps for the 8th National Athletic Meet. Similar to the 7th National Athletic Meet, it was held in multiple prefectures in Shikoku and 4 prefectures. Since Okinawa, which participated in the previous tournament, officially joined the sports association, it participated in athletics and judo.
