文化人シリーズ 1949年（昭和24年）11月3日～1952(昭和27年)11月3日発行 1949年（昭和24年）11月、郵政省は、文化人切手シリーズ（全18種）の発行を開始した。第1号は「野口英世」で、その後3年間で上記の18人の文化人切手が発行された。日本のシリーズ切手としては、すでに国立公園シリーズが戦前（1936富士箱根）から発行され、戦後は国体、また、断続的だが切手趣味週間や年賀切手が発行されているが、文化人シリーズ発行の後、観光地百選や花シリーズ、東京オリンピック、鳥、国宝シリーズなど、単体テーマとして1～3年間に次々とシリーズ切手が発行されるようになった。
