Philatelic Week Issued on November 1, 1949 (Showa 24)

Philatelic Week Issued on November 1, 1949 (Showa 24) In November 1949 (Showa 24), the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a commemorative stamp of the same size as last year's "Beauty Looking Back" stamp because the stamp hobby week was changed to postage week. The original picture is "Moon and Goose" drawn by Hiroshige Ando, an ukiyo-e artist from the Edo period. This stamp was later called "the masterpiece of Japanese stamps".
By the way, this original "Goose" has already been partially used in the design of regular stamps of 1.3 yen and 4 yen issued in 1948 (Showa 23).
