緯度観測所創立50年記念 1949年（昭和24年）10月30日発行 緯度観測所は1899年（明治33年）に岩手県水沢に開設された。郵政省は1949円（昭和24年）10月、その創立50周年を記念して切手を発行した。
Mizusawa Latitude Observatory 50th Anniversary Issued on October 30, 1949 (Showa 24) The Latitude Observatory was established in Mizusawa, Iwate Prefecture in 1899 (Meiji 33).The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued a stamp in October 1949 (Showa 24) to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its founding.
