別府観光 1949年（昭和24年）3月10日発行 １９４９年（昭和２４年）３月、逓信省は政府の提唱する観光事業促進（現在のインバウンド）の先駆けとして九州大分県別府の観光切手2種を発行した。本来政府は、毎日新聞社の提唱で全国観光名所をシリーズ化した切手の発行を計画していたが、別府市の強力な働きかけにより先行発行されたものである。当時の郵趣誌によると、原画は油彩であるが、印刷方式が凹版だったため、完成した図版に違和感があると述べられている。
