第3回国民体育大会記念（水泳） 1948年（昭和23年）9月9日発行
1948年（昭和23年）9月、逓信省は、第3回国民体育大会を記念してこの切手1種と他4種の連刷切手を発行した。この水泳競技会は、九州八幡市大谷プールで行われた。
因みに切手デザインは、プール中の水泳選手が溺れているようだと大変不評だった。
3rd National Athletic Meet(Swimming) Issued on September 9, 1948 (Showa 23)
In September 1948 (Showa 23), the Ministry of Communications issued one type of this stamp and four other types of continuous stamps in commemoration of the 3rd National Sports Festival. This swimming competition was held at Otani Pool in Yawata City, Kyushu.
By the way, the stamp design was very unpopular that the swimmer in the pool seemed to be drowning.
