75th Anniv.of the Postal Services Memorial Issued on December 12, 1946 (Showa 21) In August 1945, Japan notified the Allies of acceptance of the Botdam Declaration, ending the Pacific War.In December 1946 (Showa 21), the Ministry of Communications (which became the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in 1949) issued a commemorative stamp amid a shortage of supplies after the war.
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the postal business, these stamps were solicited for design and small sheets were also issued.
