Patriotic donation stamp Issued on June 1, 1937 (Showa 12)

Patriotic donation stamp issued on June 1, 1937 (Showa 12) In June 1937, three types of patriotic stamps were released. Before that, in 1933 (Showa 8), Japan withdrew from the League of Nations that does not recognize Manchuria and was isolated from the international community. At this time, militaristic thought was increasing in Japan. These stamps were donated and sold at post offices as well as elementary and junior high schools.
