第15回赤十字国際会議 1934年（昭和9年）10月1日発行 1934年（昭和9年）10月、東京で赤十字国際会議（第15回）が開催された。日本は1877年の西南戦争で傷病者を介護するため「博愛社」を設立した。その後、1886年（明治19）に政府が国際赤十字条約に加盟時した時、「博愛社」は「日本赤十字社」に改称された。この切手から、UPU規定の「日本郵便」は、再び「大日本帝国郵便」と改訂された。
The 15th Red Cross International Conference

In October 1934, the Red Cross International Conference (15th) was held in Tokyo. Japan established "Hakuaisha" to care for the sick in the 1877 South-western War. After that, when the government joined the International Red Cross Treaty in 1886 (Meiji 19), "Hakuaisha" was renamed to "Japanese Red Cross Society". From this stamp, the UPU regulation "Japan Post" was rewritten as "Dainippon(Great Japan) Imperial Postl".
