日韓通信業務合同記念切手 1905年（明治38年）7月1日発行 1895年（明治27年）7月、日清戦争直後に李氏朝鮮の郵便事業が再開された。その後、1904年（明治37年）に日露戦争が始まった。同年2月に朝鮮半島のほぼすべてを制圧した日本は、李氏朝鮮と「日韓協約」を締結し、その後、1905年（明治38年）に日本は朝鮮から通信事業（郵便・電信）を委託された。

In July 1895, the postal service of Joseon Dynasty was restarted shortly after the Sino-Japanese War. Then, in 1904 (Meiji 37), the Russo-Japanese War began. In February of the same year, Japan, which controlled almost all of the Korean Peninsula, signed a "Japan-Korea Agreement" with Joseon Dynasty. Then, in 1905 (Meiji 38), Japan was entrusted with the communications business (postal/telegraph) by Joseon Dynasty.
