第二次動植物国宝コイル切手（円位） 1959年（昭和34年）～ 1961年（昭和36年） 日本のコイル切手は自動販売機用切手として1938年（昭和13）に初めて発売された。しかし、販売機故障（高湿度による密着）などの理由で普及せず、1959年（昭和34）に郵政省と国鉄により開発された電動式自動販売機を使って東京中央郵便局で改めて発売が開始された。上記はその時のコイル切手2種である。
