Bando Prisoner Camp Stamp Issued in August 1918 (Taisho 7)

Bando Prisoner Camp Stamp Issued in August 1918 (Taisho 7) Bando Camp is a prisoner of war camp that was established in Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture (formerly Bando Town) in Japan during World War I (1914-1918). Of the German soldiers who were taken prisoner of the Japanese army in Qingdao, a German concession, about 1000 were accommodated from 1917 to 1920. When the Treaty of Versailles came into effect in 1920,This camp has finished its role. At that time, mail from Japan to Germany was treated as prisoner of war mail free of charge, so it is estimated that this stamp was used for internal communication at Bando Prisoner of War Camp. Bando camp stamps were distributed in two types, 2Sn and 5Sn.
