新聞週間 1957（昭和32年） 10月 1日発行 新聞週間は、日本新聞協会が1948年（昭和23）から毎年10月、1週間にわたって催すイベントである。起源は、GHQの指示でアメリカの「ニューズペーパー・ウィーク」と呼応して開催され、現在に至る。1957年の新聞週間切手は、沖縄地図とロケットを象った鉛筆がデザインされている。因みに、沖縄での新聞週間記念切手はこれが最後である。
Newspaper Week'57 Issued on Oct. 1, 1957 (Showa32) Newspaper Week is an event held by the Japan Newspaper Publishers and Editors every October from 1948 (Showa 23) for a week. The origin was held in response to the American "Newspaper Week" at the direction of GHQ, and continues to the present day. The 1957 newspaper weekly stamp is designed with a map of Okinawa and a pencil in the shape of a rocket. By the way, this is the last newspaper week commemorative stamp in Okinawa.
