切手発行10年 1958（昭和33年） 7月 1日発行 琉球政府時代に発行された切手は、正規印刷では1948年7月1日が始まりである。ただし沖縄では、1945年の終戦後、親族等の安否確認やその他の通信手段として、手紙やはがきによる通信が必要不可欠だったため、終戦後約3年間は、旧大日本帝国時代の切手を、所轄の郵便局長の印鑑を押して暫定的に流通させていた。この切手は、正刷切手発行10年を記念して発行され、初期切手3種がデザインされている。
10th Anniv. of Postage Stamps Issued on Jul. 1, 1958 (Showa33) Stamps issued during the Ryukyu government era began on July 1, 1948 in regular printing. However, in Okinawa, after the end of the war in 1945, communication by letters and postcards was indispensable as a means of confirming the safety of relatives and other means of communication. It was tentatively distributed by stamping the postage stamp of the postcard.This stamp is issued in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the issuance of regular stamps, and three types of initial stamps are designed.
