Promoting Reforestation Issued on Apr. 30, 1959 (Showa34) Following Aibayashi Week, which was started in 1951 by the US military, the All-Ryu Greening Promotion Campaign began in 1958. It was intended to restore the nature and greenery of Okinawa, which became a battlefield in the Pacific War, and continued until 1970. Stamps are issued in commemoration of this, and a stylized forest is designed.
