九州対抗陸上競技 1960（昭和35年） 11月 6日発行 1960年11月、第8回九州各県対抗陸上競技大会が沖縄の名護市で行われた。当時はまだ日本への返還前だったが、1952年の日米講和協約により、日本に属する沖縄を会場として、3万人を集めて開会された。15年ぶりに聞く日本国歌に感激したという記録が残っている。切手は、3セント（名護湾と聖火）と8セント（ランナー）の2種が発行された。
8th Kyushu Inter-Prefetural Athletic Meet Issued on Nov. 6, 1960 (Showa35) In November 1960, the 8th Kyushu Prefectural Athletics Competition was held in Nago City, Okinawa. At that time, it was still before the return to Japan, but under the Japan- US Peace Treaty in 1952, it was opened with 30,000 people gathered at Okinawa, which belongs to Japan. There is a record that I was impressed with the Japanese national anthem that I heard for the first time in 15 years. Two types of stamps were issued: 3 cents (Nago Bay and the torch) and 8 cents (runner).
