Bird week Issued on May 10, 1963 (Showa38)

Bird week Issued on May 10, 1963 (Showa38) "Bird Week" is a week set up for the protection of wild birds. In Japan, the first "Bird Day" was held on April 10, 1947, but after that, it was set to May 10 in consideration of the snowfall in the north. From 1950, the seven days from May 10th to 16th were designated as "Bird Week". During the period, events such as bird watching events are held all over the country, with the aim of learning about the importance of nature surrounding them through wild birds and spreading them. The stamp is issued in commemoration of Okinawa's Bird Week, and is designed with "Flock and Island of Grey-faced Buzzards".
