ユネスコ創立20周年 1966（昭和41年） 9月 20日発行 ユネスコ（国際連合教育科学文化機関）は、1945年11月、国際連合の専門機関として発足した。広島・長崎・アウシュビッツなどの悲劇を引き起こした第二次大戦への反省にたち、二度と人類があやまちをおかさないようにとの願いをこめて創設された。琉球政府は、沖縄戦の悲劇を忘れないために、平和維持を推進してきたため、ユネスコ創立20周年を記念した切手を発行した。デザインは、瓦屋根と国際連合マークである。なお、日本本土でもこれを記念する切手が発行された。 参考；フリー百科事典『ウイキペディア』2022.3
20th Anniv. of the UNESCO Issued on Sept. 20, 1966 (Showa41) UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) was established in November 1945 as a specialized agency of the United Nations. It was founded with the hope that humankind will never make a mistake in the wake of the reflection on World War II, which caused the tragedy of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Auschwitz, etc. The Ryukyu government has issued stamps commemorating the 20th anniversary of UNESCO's founding in order to promote peacekeeping in order not to forget the tragedy of the Battle of Okinawa.
