20th Anniiiv. of Postage Stamps Issued on Jul. 1, 1968 (Showa43)

20th Anniiiv. of Postage Stamps Issued on Jul.1, 1968 (Showa43) The history of Okinawa stamp issuance began in July 1948 with the issuance of "7 types of B-yen stamps", which are regular printed stamps. Okinawa was occupied by the US military in 1945 (Showa 20), and for three years from immediately after that until the issuance of regular printed stamps, "provisional stamps" stamped with the local postmaster's seal were used on prewar Japanese stamps. Therefore, it is correct that this commemorative stamp is 20 years old when the Okinawa regular printing stamp is issued. Reference: Naha City Museum of History Homepage 2022.3
