切手発行20年 1968（昭和43年） 7月 1日発行 沖縄の切手発行の歴史は、1948年7月に正規印刷切手の「B円切手7種」発行がスタートである。1945年（昭和20）に沖縄は米軍に占領され、その直後から正規印刷切手発行までの3年間は、戦前の日本切手に現地の郵便局長印を押した「暫定切手」が使用された。従って、この記念切手は、沖縄正規印刷切手発行20年というのが正しい。 参考：那覇市歴史博物館ホームページ 2022.3
20th Anniiiv. of Postage Stamps Issued on Jul.1, 1968 (Showa43) The history of Okinawa stamp issuance began in July 1948 with the issuance of "7 types of B-yen stamps", which are regular printed stamps. Okinawa was occupied by the US military in 1945 (Showa 20), and for three years from immediately after that until the issuance of regular printed stamps, "provisional stamps" stamped with the local postmaster's seal were used on prewar Japanese stamps.
